Field Service Technician

Location: Stockton-on-Tees with UK travel

Benefits: 28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays), overtime at time and a quarter, generous on-call incentive

To maintain and repair the electrical and mechanical systems on Anaerobic Digestion plants throughout the UK, working with the Service Co-ordinator, Head Office, and Senior Management.

Working out of the head office at Stockton on Tees but traveling to Anaerobic Digestion plants and process facilities across the United Kingdom.

    • Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance

    • Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs

    • Fault diagnosis and repair of electrical and mechanical systems

    • Fit new parts and ensure equipment is working correctly

    • Supporting other members of the service team and Operational Staff

    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation

    • Working across the UK on sites as required

    • Accurate reporting of breakdown and maintenance works completed

    • Supervision of external contractors including site induction and review of RAMS

    • Ensuring all maintenance procedures are carried out in a safe and efficient manner

  • Essential

    • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in field-based/industrial engineering

    • Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering

    • Experience working on rotating equipment (pumps, motors, gearboxes, blowers)

    • Experience of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment

    • Fault finding and diagnostics (electrical and/or mechanical)

    • Working within regulated industrial environments (e.g., waste, AD, EfW, utilities, manufacturing)

    • Knowledge of 3-phase electrical systems

    • Understanding of process safety and environmental compliance

    • Ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs

    • IT competency (CMMS systems, reporting software, Microsoft Office)

    • Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach

    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

    • Customer-facing service experience

    • Full UK driving license

    Desirable

    • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations

    • Experience with PLCs

    • Experience in anaerobic digestion, biogas, or water/wastewater industries

    • COMPEX or similar hazardous area certification

    • Confined space entry training

    • IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification

  • An experienced maintenance engineer with mechanical bias but able to demonstrate both mechanical and electrical proficiency, knowledge and experience with biogas equipment, such as biogas flares, gas to grid equipment, etc.

    The individual will need to be able to operate with minimal supervision with either scheduled or unscheduled work. A good communicator capable of working as part of a small team.

    Supervision of external contractors including site induction, review of RAMS and ensuring all maintenance procedures are carried out in a safe efficient manner will also be required.

  • Safety – Able to work in a safe manner adhering to SOPs and RAMS. Conscious of responsibility for own and others; safety on site, reporting any unsafe situations or hazards.

    Flexibility – Prepared to change schedule to account for emergency breakdowns or urgent works.

    Organisation – Highly organised, manages time well, organises own and contractor activities on site to maintain plant availability.

    Team Player – Able to work as part of a team, understands how activities impact on

    colleagues and sites. Ability to build relationships with clients and different departments.

    Attention to Detail – Detail oriented, delivers even complex tasks without allowing standards to drop.
