Electrical Service Technician

Department: BioContractors Division

Reporting to: Senior Managers

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE

Location: Stockton

Benefits: 28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays), overtime at time and a quarter, generous on-call incentive

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Service Technician to join our team, supporting the installation, repair and maintenance of systems on Anaerobic Digestion plants across the UK. This role offers variety, responsibility and the chance to be part of a growing renewable energy sector.

    • Installing, repairing and maintaining electrical systems on AD plants.

    • Diagnosing and resolving faults quickly and effectively.

    • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics.

    • Working with electric motors and, ideally, PLCs.

    • Fitting new parts and ensuring equipment is tested and running correctly.

    • Responding to emergencies and unplanned problems.

    • Reporting issues clearly and accurately to the wider team.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.

    • Comfortable working across multiple sites with varied operational contexts.

    • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    • Interest in sustainability, circular economy, and renewable energy trends.

    • Strong knowledge of three-phase electrical systems.

    • Excellent testing and fault-finding skills.

    • Experience with electric motors (PLC knowledge is a plus).

    • Computer literacy and strong communication skills.

    • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    • Good time management and organisational skills

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality 

    • Ability to handle stressful situations

    • A team player and highly motivated individual

    • High level of accuracy in checking & processing information 

    • Ability to form good relationships with colleagues, clients and vendors 

    • Able to work on own initiative and make effective decisions

    • A positive flexible attitude 

    • Proven experience managing industrial or energy assets, preferably in renewable energy or waste sectors. 

    • Understanding of anaerobic digestion processes and plant components.
